At 8 weeks your baby is approximately 2/3 of an inch, and weighs approximately .04 ounces(about the size of a wild strawberry or kidney bean).

Your baby's brand new, teeny tiny internal organs developing under see-through skin are almost ready to start functioning on their own. Its hands and feet are poking out from the limbs that are growing longer every day and developing webbed fingers and toes. The babies facial features are becoming more prominent and its lips, nose and eyelids are looking more human-like now. Its eyelids almost cover his eyes and the body begins to straighten. Breathing tubes extend from the throat to the branches of developing lungs, and the "tail" is just about gone. In the brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with each another, forming primitive neural pathways. Its heart is beating at the incredible rate of 150 to 170 times per minute. Baby's taste buds are now forming, gearing up for his or her first meals.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. This information is to give you a general idea of your baby's size.
